About Jane Eyre
Passionate, fiery, rebellious and strong. Charlotte Brontë created Yorkshire’s ultimate heroine.
When Jane accepts a position as Governess at Thornfield Hall, little does she expect a spark to kindle between her and the brooding Mr Rochester. As you watch her fall under his spell, something hides in the shadows, waiting to destroy her happiness.
Experience the unexpected twists and turns of one woman’s life from the humble school room to a towering manor house and the sweeping Yorkshire moors. With heart-stirring choreography and music that captures the essence of her timeless tale, watch Jane’s journey unfold.
With choreography by Cathy Marston, and music played live, Northern Ballet’s brilliant dance actors bring this tale of romance, jealousy and dark secrets to life.

Really beautiful performance and quite true to the book. The music was beautiful, and the vocalists were amazing, but the lyrics were a bit too literal for me. I also see these classics as stories with some slight undertones of feminine rage as the authors are really aware that the fantasies that the sow are rooted in the whims of an man vis-a-vis a promising woman with little agency because of societal structures. I think that is why I enjoyed Jane Eyre, because she was so independent but her character in this was a bit too forgiving of Mr. Rochester at every turn.
Really strong singing and story adaptation. Felt a little more like a concert than a musical.
Really nice and comforting. The acting, music, vocals, atmosphere and intimacy were good
