Sinatra The Musical in London is set during the biggest turning point of Sinatra’s life. The musical begins on New Year’s Eve in 1942, as the 27-year-old Sinatra prepares to step onto the stage of New York City’s Paramount Theatre. He doesn’t know it yet, but his voice is about to define history. However, with fame comes consequences, bringing with it great complications as Sinatra’s marriage to Nancy is tested by his budding relationship with movie star Ava Gardner.
This production features more than 20 of Sinatra’s classic hits as it follows the young star through his experiences with public adoration and hostile headlines as he fights to claim his place in show business. Joel Harper-Jackson stars as Frank Sinatra, joined by Ana Villafañe as Ava Gardner, Phoebe Panaretos as Nancy Sinatra, Jenna Russell as Dolly Sinatra, Marty Maquire as Marty Sinatra, and Lee Zarrett as George Evans.

Sinatra The Musical in London arrives in the West End following its premiere at Birmingham Rep. The show is written by Joe DiPietro, whose work includes titles such as Memphis and What’s New Pussycat? and is directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, known for productions including Anything Goes and Top Hat.
The musical uses many of Sinatra’s songs as a throughline to explore a time of great vulnerability for the young singer, exploring the early years of his stardom, the breakdown of his first marriage, his relationship to Ava Gardner, and the professional comeback that would help define his career as we know it.
This production features set design by Peter McKintosh, costume design by Jon Morrell, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Jonathan Deans, and video design by Akhila Krishnan.
