In this new play, an actor arrives late to a sound studio for a rushed recording session. There, he is handed the script of a bone-chilling ghost story to read. But as the engineer sets up the recording and the evening's recording goes on, the horrors slowly begin to escape the page — and begins to haunt the studio itself.

A Ghost in Your Ear is written and directed by Tony Award nominee Jamie Armitage (SIX: The Musical) and features a chilling sound design by the Tony-nominated duo Ben & Max Ringham (A Doll's House, Prima Facie). The play comes to New York following an acclaimed, sold-out run at London’s Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, where The Guardian called the play a “truly terrifying headphone horror."
In a statement, Armitage said, “There is something so special about the power of a spine-tingling communal experience. So to be able to fuse my passion for horror with binaural audio technology in collaboration with the world-leading sound-designers Ben & Max Ringham was a real dream come true. We enjoyed the most special run of the show in London earlier this year, and I cannot wait to bring it over to New York to terrify the audiences there too. And given that the whole show is set in an audiobook recording studio, a collaboration with Audible felt like the most natural fit in the world."
