*Oh, Mary!* is one of Broadway’s most unexpected breakouts, having been praised for its audacity and inventiveness. Escola’s script twists American history into an absurdist tale, imagining Mary Todd Lincoln as the frustrated, unsatisfied wife whose ambitions are thwarted by her gay, closeted husband and a world that doesn’t take her seriously.

The play is quick and hilariously self-aware, filled with slapstick humour and the theatrical equivalent of a fever dream. Beneath the absurdity, however, lies a piece of tender exploration of repression and the desire to be loved and seen. 

This London staging boasts a wonderful creative team, including costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, sound designers Daniel Kluger and Drew Levy, and original music by Daniel Kluger. 

This staging of *Oh, Mary!* offers a rare chance to see a genuine cult hit for yourself. It’s bold, cheeky, and unlike anything else on the London stage.

Trafalgar Theatre - TodayTix

The Trafalgar Theatre opened in the West End theatre in summer 2021. Named the Trafalgar Theatre, the playhouse combines the two smaller studio spaces at Trafalgar Studios: Trafalgar Studio One and Trafalgar Studio Two. 

The Grade II listed Trafalgar Theatre will feature a new single auditorium, with a capacity similar to the [Duke of York’s Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/duke-of-yorks-theatre) and the [Vaudeville Theatre](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/theatres/vaudeville-theatre). Seating will be across two levels: the stalls and dress circle.

The inaugural play *Panthea* lasted just 15 nights. Early plays included *Deburau* starring Ivor Novello, and Eugene O'Neill's *The Emperor Jones.* [*The Mousetrap*](https://www.londontheatre.co.uk/show/the-mousetrap)* premiered at the Ambassadors Theatre on 25 Nov. 1952, and later moved to St. Martin's Theatre in 1974.

Recent shows include a decade-long run of *Stomp,* as well as star-studded plays.

## Ambassadors Theatre Seating Information

The auditorium has two levels – Stalls and Dress Circle. It is an intimate theatre.

In the Stalls, the rake of the seating becomes obvious from Row E and is quite a sharp rake, but the last two rows are set lower than those in front. The overhang of the Dress Circle affects the view from Row M.

The Dress Circle is not affected by an overhang, but the legroom on this level is not ideal.

*Teeth ’n’ Smiles* in London was first performed at the Royal Court in 1975, and it’s returning 50 years later in this smashing West End production at the Duke of York’s Theatre. The cast is led by Rebecca Lucy Taylor, also known by her band stage name, Self Esteem, with Michael Fox and Phil Daniels joining her. Daniel Raggett directs this show masterfully. The creative team also includes music by Nick Bicât, lyrics by Tony Bicât, and additional music and lyrics by Taylor. It also includes set design by Chloe Lamford, costume design by Alex Mullins, lighting design by Matt Daw, and sound design by Ben and Max Ringham. 

*Teeth ’n’ Smiles* has attracted attention not just because of its anniversary date, but because Taylor’s casting breathes new life into a play about the death of an entire world. Her stage presence remains magnetic, and the impact of the songs is not lost on audiences. This show offers a snapshot of a life that has gone by the wayside with accuracy and sensitivity; 1960s idealism that wastes away into something much darker. *Teeth ’n’ Smiles* is a musical play set in 1969 at a Cambridge University ball. It follows Maggie Frisby along with her band, The Skins, during the course of one very messy night as they come up on what might be their demise. Once a hot voice of counterculture energy, Maggie is now a vicious drunk and constantly furious while those around her try to manage the fallout of a night that seems inevitable. As the music ferociously pounds on, what was supposed to be a youthful rebellion burns off into feelings of disappointment, questions about art, and what it means to survive. 

This 2026 production stars Rebecca Lucy Taylor, whose band stage name is Self Esteem, as Maggie, with Michael Fox as Arthur and Phil Daniels as Saraffian. The cast also includes Michael Abubakar, Roman Asde, Bill Caple, Joseph Evans, Samuel Jordan, Aysha Kala, Jojo Macari, Christopher Patrick Nolan, and Noah Weatherby.
